How can I quicky improve in ballet?
i am a ballet tap jazz and hip hop dancer and I need help with ballet.I'm working to be on the competitive team next year and I want to improve in everything but mostly ballet I need excersizes tips or absolutely ANYTHiNG you have that will make me improve in ballet and make me an overall better dancer. also any tips for my actual dance classes so my dance teacher will know that I an focused and willing to work. also any tips for dance recitals or ANYTHING about dance it doesn't matter what thanks so much keep on dancing
Good professional ballet weight?
I am thirteen years old. My height is between 5 foot 4 inches and 5 foot 5 inches. I weight somewhere in the mid ninetys and take ballet. Is this a good weight for a professional dancer?
Does ballet help with cheerleading?
Hello everyone.. i've been taking ballet since I was 5 yrs old and now that i'm in high school I'm a freshmen I want to join a sport, and cheerleading is what interests me the most because it's also dancing.. so I was wondering if you have done ballet for awhile, does that technique help with cheer?
Am I too old to start ballet?
I'm 17 and really want to start ballet. Can anyone tell me what to expect? How quickly will I move through the grades? I will be studying the Cecchetti method of ballet. How long did it take you to go en pointe? Anything else you wanna add? Lol thanks
No period - ballet tomorrow?
I was supposed to start my period on Jan 1st, but I still haven't started. I have a really long ballet class tomorrow, and I wanted to know what I should do. I normally wear a tampon....but since I haven't started, I can't. If I wear a pad, then I have to wear underwear under my leotard, and then shorts over it instead of a sheer black skirt like I normally do. It is very uncomfortable and I don't like wearing the shorts at all....If I don't put anything on, then if I start, I will look like an idiot and I will be very embarrassed. I can never feel my period when it comes. I only know I started when I look or I feel really wet and realized I started a while ago...I really need some help. I don't know what to do. Thanks
Wanting to start ballet again?
so i want to start ballet again i did it for 4 years from the age of 6 10 to get fit,help with my figure skating and because i just love dancing.but the thing isi'm scared to go into a class with students younger then me i'm 15 or the same age as me as i'll feel nervous because they'll have been dancing for longer than me, could i go into the adult class?also i don't know how to tell my mum i want to start again as she was really disappointed when i quit at 10 biggest mistake i ever made in my eyes any advice help would be appreciatedye i plan to very hard if i do go back work hard
Where can I buy French Sole ballet pumps in Edinburgh?
I'm looking for somewhere that stocks a big selection, a place like Harvey Nichols for example, do they carry the French Sole line? I know you can order them online but I prefer to be able to see shoes in the flesh and try them on before I purchase
Smiling in ballet class?
Okay, I have my ballet class tonight. The usual, tendus, grande battements, centerwork, things across the floor, etc. My teacher has never told us to smile like big, show all teeth, giddy smile, but she's told us to think of pleasent things and that will help make you soft and flowy and pretty. Should I be serious and concentrating on my exercises and body and be detirmined and keep my face serious, or would it help to smile a tiny bit. I feel like I am hamming it up and being a goody goody or something cuz NO ONE seems happy or smiles really. Smile? Little or alot?? How can I look happy all the time in class even when concetrated? PS how can I make my hands not as stiff?
Ballet ballet ballet?
so im auditioning for houstons summer intensive and i really need a way to stand out i already have a leotard picked out so dont say well use a cool color leo. should i smile the whole time like a performance or what should i do?this is a class im doing a routine i made up or anything like that im just taking a barre and center but should i smile during that or would i look like a retard
